I found this sweet photo of the Duke from True Grit and I wanted to mess with it a little so I painted it in photoshop and this is what it came out looking like

I made a couple time lapse over the past year and forgot all about them till now, The first one is when Mindy and I tore out the bathroom to extend the kitchen at her folks place. Next is my back yard in Moroni. Third was replacing the down bar last snow season, and lastly was shaving the beard.

This is one of the few photo's my parents have of them besides of their wedding picture that I have ever seen. Mom asked if there was a way to make it look better and have a print that was bigger then a 3 by 3 haha they kill me at times

His name is Mikey Murhead aka the meerkat manner you may have crossed paths with him if you ever needed any graphic design, custom tailoring or maybe passed him on his road bike peddling around Provo. He is one well rounded guy and funny then hell. I've learned a lot from the meerkat in the years I've known him and his CAUSE that keeps him grounded. Skateboarding, a couple plies of maple wood with 4 wheels under his feet which keep him balanced, with the many activities He's involved in. We all need to have our own cause to keep us grounded whether its chasing bigfoot in the woods or kick flip indy's on the mini mega ramp we all need to fight for something.

In my experience if you want to know about a town, or the people, you need to find someone who has the info. And who better then the local Barber of 45 years. His name is Dick Nicol, the Scottish boy in Heber. Guys like Dick have been around and have met a wide variety of folks who stop by his shop for a cut. Only 8 bucks for a new look, but only men's hair. He will not cut women's hair. "Can't. Don't ask me." Also, you can’t call ahead and set up an appointment cause there isn’t a phone "Can't cut and talk at the same time.”
"I like arguing with customers, and they like arguing with me," he said. "I've always been an outlaw." Dick is one enjoyable person to be around and I didn’t realize just how long I had been there talking to him. The hours felt like minutes. If your in need of a good story and a little off the top, stop by Dick’s Barber Shop and don’t forget “Cash Only”.

9/11 Ten Years Later

Over the past few weeks I've been asking friends and family where they were on 9/11 for this project. I found that everybody I talked to remembered exactly where they were and what they were doing. The three portraits below reflect three of these people's stories.

Daniel Green-
I was feeding my son oatmeal when I turned on the TV and saw the first tower burning. I honestly thought it was a movie trailer at first. 9/11 affected me not only as an American, but as a member of the National Guard. I was shipped out for 18 months, I was mad, I couldn't believe the sucker punch we took that day. As I watched the towers come down I knew our lives were changed.

Joyce Finlinson-
I was sitting at my desk in my classroom when a colleague came running in and told me to turn on the TV. The rest of the morning was spent watching the news reports and trying to explain to my 4th grade class what had happened and why someone would do such a thing. It was tough morning for all of us.

Elliot Wilde-
I was 19 and working for Provo City at South Fork Park. I was sitting in my truck when I heard on the radio what had happened. At that time, I didn't fully understand the magnitude that this event would have on the world. I later enrolled in the fire academy and realized that 9/11 impacted so many aspects of our lives, especially the fire service.

I headed down to southern Utah to board Brian Head before the season was done. It was a blast and on the way home I took old 89 back home. That is a cool road. I only got to snap a few shots but, well worth the extra time it took to get home. Photos should be up for next week.

This is one of my favorite views leaving Sanpete heading to Nephi. Back side of Nebo

For those who know me I'm not a huge fan of dogs unless they are out side dogs, or hound dogs for that matter. This is the greatest hound ever. He may only have one eye because of a fight he had with a mountain Lion but Willard is my favorite dog of all time, hands down. P.s. the whole fight with the Loin was a lie, the truth is he lost it to an infection.

Story time about this photo. This was taken about a half mile from my old mans turkey farm. Zach and I went hiking to this rock over looking the valley, anyway as we got about 3/4's up the rock I pulled out my camera to snap this pic, when I pushed the button Zach came running down from the top of the rock and says "time to go". I'm not going to argue with the mountain man, which he is, so I grabbed my camera bag and flew down that mountain. Zach tells me that he could hear some cubs down in the rock that I was shooting, and we not wanting to meet up with mama with no gun or dogs did what we knew best, get the hell out of there.

Happy One Year! 52 weeks ago
I remember a little over a year ago I wanted to do a snowboard weekly thing of my self, some friends, and my travels for the winter time just for the sake of doing something and having an excuse for having a blog. After the snow season came to an end I decided to continue to keep posting random things every week that I took part in from the Flow Rider, Skating, or doing some kind of Photo pushing button stuff, and now back for another snow season. I've really enjoyed doing this thing (Blog). I know my followers aren't great in numbers and most likely its only Mindy checking it. but It is what it is. Its been 52 weeks and 61 posts and counting I've only missed one Friday and I'm pretty sure only Zach was the only one who noticed cause he called me out the next day at work. I'm going to continue and hope I will be around to say Happy Two Year Famous Fridays.

Wow five years ago today was the day I finished up a two year adventure back east while serving a LDS mission. It's crazy to think about all the things I accomplished and lessons I learned about life in those few years. I remember telling my colleague Hanson at the time that today will be the last day I'll ever knock on a strangers door. I was wrong though cause I sold door to door alarm systems for the next couple of summers. I'm pretty sure I also said something along the lines of... 5 years from now I will have a house, a sweet job making tons of money, boarding, and have a hot lady. Well its funny how things turn out cause right now I live in my parents basement, not so sweet of a job, and money is no where to be found. I am still boarding though and got my Hot Lady by my side. Two for five ain't bad in my book.

Have you been to the Lindon aquatic center? If no is the answer then your missing out because this place is AMAZING. You got to hand it to this small city for putting in such a fun thing called "Flow Rider". Its good wholesome summer time fun. Just watch out for the fun police because they can be a little intense at times cause they wouldn't let me use the head cam, but thats ok. Once again this place is the shit so sun screen up and rip that man made wave.

My roomie Jake talked me into coming up the mountain after I got out of school and those few hours were amazing I got to see some hang time from Jake on his skies, ran into Cole getting a sick line in lower Majestic, took some laps with Big C, and Sam aka 7-11 which its good to have him back it action. Just a little preview of what is going to be out for next weeks video.

I decided to put my Go Pro to the test with the water proof case. Kamas has the coolest rec center with a water slide and a high dive. Fun times for 5 bucks.

Last week I met up with some of my good pals for the 'Townie Reunion Party' that we have every year at Fairview Mountain. We all grew up in small towns that surround this mountain. Fairview Mt. does not have a lift or a rope tow, but there is a run filled with home made jumps and rails. These were made years ago in shop class and are still in action. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about when I say townies, it is a crew of kids that I grew up with who loved to skate and snowboard. The name 'townies' came about because that is what the private school kids in Mt. Pleasant called the locals. When we overheard them call us 'Townies' at the local gas station, our good friend Luis said "thats what we should call our selves" and well it stuck.

Another week another famous video with Treyson, Parker, Hobush, and myself.

For those of you who know me, you know I'm a fan of a frosty Coke. In my book Mcdonalds takes the cake on the best tasting Coke out there but there's a new top dog and it comes from "Don Pedros" in Heber, Ut. If you're ever in the neighborhood you can try it out for yourself.

First of all sorry for the late post of this weeks Famous Friday. Had some trouble with the upload process.

My roommate Jake showed me some sweet shoots he got while out split boarding. He duck taped the cam to his ski pole and I was like "that is a good idea". Next stop LOWES. $3.75 later I walked out with a bag of 1/4 in. hanger bolts and a 3 ft. dowel. Watch the "Go Pro" on a stick!

For all of you who didn't think it was possible, I caught a rare glimpse of Cody riding on his day off. Here's the picture to prove it.

Its been super fun up the mountain because we've had some new snow and there's nothing better then taking fresh turns. Enjoy the Pow video.
